This position will:
Weekday role: Banquet Cook
Assist in the preparation and execution of banquet meals and hot line production for hotel events and functions
Support banquet and catering events by preparing food items according to production timelines and event requirements
Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
Ensure all food meets quality, freshness, and food safety standards
Assist with preparation of sauces, proteins, sides, and other banquet menu components
Maintain proper inventory levels, assist with ordering, and minimize waste
Ensure all food is prepared and ready at least 30 minutes prior to service
Work efficiently to meet production schedules in a fast-paced environment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, including storage areas and equipment
Adhere to all health department and sanitation guidelines
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Weekend Role: Cafeteria Cook
Prepare, stock, and maintain cold and hot food items for cafeteria service
Set up and maintain all service stations for meal periods
Serve and portion food during service while ensuring consistency and quality
Visually inspect all food before and during service to ensure quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the cafeteria at all times
Restock food and supplies throughout service as needed
General Responsibilities:
Maintain a high level of professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
Work cohesively as part of the culinary team
Perform job duties with minimal supervision
Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization across all kitchen areas
Ensure all equipment is used safely and properly
Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs
Qualified candidates may possess:
Minimum of 6 months of food & beverage operations experience required
Previous cafeteria and/or entry-level culinary experience preferred, ideally within a hotel environment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and across departments
Demonstrates a calm, professional, and welcoming demeanor when handling internal questions or concerns
Basic math skills required to understand and execute recipes and measurements accurately
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to safely operate kitchen equipment (knives, spatulas, tongs, etc.)
Ability to work around a variety of cleaning chemicals and respond appropriately to hazardous situations
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including the duration of a full shift
Frequent bending, reaching overhead, and squatting required
Ability to lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 30 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance
Ability to push, move, or transport items (up to 70 lbs) using a hand cart
Ability to stoop and perform repetitive physical tasks as needed
Schedule reequirements:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Availability to support weekday (Pastry Cook) and weekend (Cafeteria Cook) responsibilities
